For Nordstrom's new arrivals in Fall of 2010 we wanted to give our customer a fun and engaging way of exploring the hottest trends. We created the 'Your Style Story' feature which presented the customer with a mad-libs styled tale that she could customize by dragging words into the provided blanks. Each blank was secretly tied to a specific product category, and each answer was tied to one of three trend levels from traditional to fashionista. Upon completion of the story, the customer would be presented with her own custom collection of items based on the content of her story. She could download and share her creation, shop the items presented, browse our newest catalog, or start from scratch to see what new layouts she could create.
